Personalised support, focused on you
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a NDIS-funded service that enables people with disabilities to receive scheduled daily living support. This helps them to live as independently as possible, either in shared or individual housing.
As a registered NDIS provider, we provide personalised support services to SIL participants. This is focused on scheduled help with daily living activities, including personal care, household chores, meal preparation, medication management, and participation in social activities.
We also provide support services in Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) properties. This can be to SIL participants, or as shared support to multiple individuals living in a group home or shared apartment – as a Shared Onsite Support Provider (SOSP).
What does SIL support look like?
NDIS registered provider
As a registered NDIS provider, we are fully compliant with all NDIS standards, with a strong focus on person-centred support. This includes adhering to the NDIS Practice Standards and Code of Conduct. These promote safe and ethical service delivery, and the conduct of our support workers.
Support worker screening
We ensure staff have the right qualifications and skills through a rigorous recruitment process that exceeds industry standards. Our workforce screening follows best-practice principles to keep participants safe and ensure they receive high-quality care, treatment, and support services.
Supported Independent Living FAQs
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a NDIS-funded service that enables people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, either in shared or individual housing. Tailored 24/7 support is provided according to each person’s specific needs.
SIL offers scheduled support with daily living activities such as personal care, household tasks, meal preparation, medication management, and social/community participation.
SIL costs vary depending on the level of care and support you need. This is funded by the NDIS as a separate item within your NDIS Plan.
Shared support helps your NDIS funding stretch further, by pooling your resources with other residents. Benefits include more affordable support, while ensuring there is emergency and overnight support if required.
SIL (Supported Independent Living) and SOSP (Shared Onsite Support Provider) are both types of disability support services, but they have different focuses:
SIL: Primarily provides support to individuals with disabilities to live independently in their own homes or shared accommodation.
SOSP: Focuses on providing shared support services to multiple individuals with disabilities living in the same location, such as a group home or shared apartment complex.
